Artworks is a community non-profit organization supporting the arts and the artists of the upper Eastern Shore. Our gift shop offers for sale the works of our artist members, many of whom teach our classes. Our classes are varied—pottery, weaving, painting, gilding, to name just a few—we try to arrange classes and workshops that suit the needs, the level of interest, and the time of our students. If you wish to try your hand at almost any art form, brush up on a skill, or simply enjoy yourself, please let us know what type of class you would be interested in, and we'll attempt to arrange a worthwhile learning experience for you. Our gallery show changes from month to month—please join us for our First Friday openings when downtown Chestertown celebrates with food and fun. Artworks welcomes everyone to join, and anyone to volunteer! Many of our members are professional artists, and many of us are simply people who enjoy being in and around the arts.
Our mission is to foster personal enrichment through participation in, and appreciation of, craft and art and to stimulate a strong climate for the arts that will benefit artists and the community.
